RORY, a loveable West Highland terrier, is hoping for someone to come forward to take him for his daily walks. The five year old Westie’s owner, who lives in Kirkbride, is housebound and unable to exercise him so a charity has now stepped in for volunteers to take him out.
The Cinnamon Trust helps older people and the seriously ill by offering pet care. A spokesman said “We urgently need dog walking volunteers to help a resident of Kirkbride and Rory who would love to go for a good walk. If you would like to help, we would be delighted to hear from you.”
A large number of elderly or ill pet owners become very worried about their ability to care for their pets, feeling that their only option is to re-home them, this is where our national network of dedicated volunteers step in to offer enabling them to stay together.
“We’ll walk the dog for a housebound owner, we’ll foster pets when owners need hospital care, we’ll fetch the cat food, even clean out the bird cage or litter trays.”
Volunteers are asked to call 01736 758707 during office hours or email [email protected]
