Missing dog Jasper found after major social media campaign

There were celebrations this morning as it was confirmed that missing Border Collie Jasper has been found.

The appeal by owner Adam Nolan to find his dog went viral across the internet, with people around the world tweeting and sharing Facebook posts about the canine.

He lost sight of the four-year-old dog at about 2pm on Sunday, close to Cam Spout Crag, below Scafell Pike.

Residents and tourists alike have been searching the fells for Jasper, desperate to see a happy ending.

And, at about 9.15am today, the confirmation came on the official FindJasper Facebook page that the four-legged friend had been reunited with Adam.

A comment from one of the page administrators says: “The power of the media! We can now confirm that Adam Nolan and Jasper are reunited safe and well and on their way home!

“You guys have made such a difference, will report updates as and when possible following this post. Jasper having a check up to be sure.”

Jasper was found by Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team early this morning. To say thanks, Adam has set up a JustGiving page which has so far raised more than £14,500 for the team.
